My 1yr old son is always hungry?

He 12 months old, and eat's so much. He will eat a whole piece of pizza, and a whole grilled cheese sandwich and still be hungry. Those gerber toddler meals don't even fill him. He's not even a big baby. He's only 19lbs 8oz and 29in. He's in the 10th percentile for weight and 15th for height. I'm just wondering if I should start trying to monitor his intake? I don't want to starve him, but I'm worried about him becoming overweight. My cousin overfed her kid since she was a newborn and she's now a 65lb 2 1/2 year old. So I think i'm a little more paranoid than most people. Thanks!

Is swaddling mandatory?

I'm just curious if swaddling is a mandatory type thing people do now? All the women in my family say they never swaddled any of their children but when I look online people talk about swaddling being a must do thing. I have some of those "sleep sacks" the ones with no opening for the legs at the bottom and also some gerber sleepwear that have the mittens attached. Would that be good enough or should I buy a blanket to swaddle with just in case? There really isnt anything you can do. she seems to be getting something from most food groups which is good. give her what she wants. just make sure you arent giving her the foods in incriments...by that i mean dont give her pizza a week in a row. balance it out. give her pizza one day, then maybe some rice the next day. as long as she is gaining weight normally, and is healthy i wouldnt worry so much about WHAT she east as i would about how much of it!! Weaning my son off formula?

My son loved his formula and bottle!!! Lol he hated cold things drinks I wasn't sure if I would ever get him off of warm formula and his bottle lol that's how much he loved it. When he got about 10 and a half mos old I started to try reg milk in his bottle and sippy he like it but it was cold and he wasn't too sure. About 11 mos he started to bit his bottle and stuff, he started to kinda drink a little cold milk. Finally his bday passed about a week after I threw all his bottles away and gave him a sippy of milk he drank it and was ok with it. I didn't have to go out and buy anymore formula or new bottles. It just takes time and alot of hard work but if you do these I promise he will be off it by his bday or shortly after. It seems like your just worried he won't be off in time, that's exactly how I was but it will work just try these things and start making his bottles a little colder than normal. Hope I helped.

How do I introduce finger foods to my 8 month old?

My daughter is the same age and we also started finger foods. Gagging is normal! We give her pieces of toast, small bits of fruits/veggies. She also has mum-mums, aaroroots cookies(we give the cookies whole and she kinda just sucks on them). Just make sure you cut the pieces small so he don't choke and for the veggies/fruits to make sure you boil them a bit to soften them up. Sit by your baby at all times and it will get messy, so get your broom ready! Lol. Good luck!

gerber food is processed like a can of veggies, homemade food is better because it has more nutrients (only fresh foods though) well as far as the cooking depends on what you are wanting to make like of course bananas just can be blended, like carrots,broccoli, or hard veggies they can be cooked or steamed if you can pick it up and smash it with your fingers(take about 20 or so mins.) then its ok. the key is you have to use fresh fruits and veggies if you want to use caned then its the same as gerber. as far as meats you should wait until they are older. you will know when things are ready for your baby by just cooking it a little longer than you would for yourself so it gets a little softer. with my 2 kids i used both and actually they loved the fresh stuff.

How to "Keep On" Physx in Batman Arkham Asylum?

I have a system that can handle this game on max settings (i5 2500k, gtx 560 ti, 8gb). So far I've enjoyed great performance (60+ fps) with physx on high until I got to the first scarecrow level. I've seen physx comparison videos on youtube that display hundreds of individual bricks floating about on this level but on mine I only see some chunks of bricks floating around. Now, I've read the readme file and I know what's happening. "Please note on occasions that the combined graphics and physics load exceeds the system capabilities, the game will gracefully reduce the amount of simulation occurring" But the thing is I'm still getting 60+ fps on that level and I'm positive that my system could handle this (Just before the scarecrow level when you enter the morgue, physx worked on the hundreds of tiles peeling off the walls. still got 60+ fps). Is there any way I could prevent the automatic-physx-reduction? I'd like to play this game at its full potential. Thanks.

Stage Three Gerber Baby Food?

My 10 month old has been on stage 1 and 2 baby food for awhile. Lately, she seems bored with her food and isn't eating as good as she use to. I went to walmart the other day and bought 2 jars of stage 3 gerber baby food. I bought lasagna and apples with cinnamon and oatmeal. About 10 minutes ago I tried to feed her the food for her supper. im a freshman, and took three honors courses (the most possible for freshmen) this year and landed with a 4.1 total gpa weighted. i took 5 non honors classes that also get figured into the gpa. the weighting is a+ = 4.33 a = 4.0 a- = 3.67 and so on, and each honors course grade is counted as a full letter grade above what it would be otherwise (example if you got a b it would = 4.0). next year ill be able to take more honors classes so hopefully it will raise, but all of my friends are saying they have like 4.4s and whatnot and acting like its nothing. but i worked really hard and i only have a 4.1? is this bad?

OK, so I was outside in my front yard and I found what seems to be an American Robin's egg. It was sitting there, all alone, not broken. When did you start feeding baby food?

If you've found a great deal, then go for it! I started my son on cereal at 4 months and he hated rice, sorta liked oatmeal, but went straight for the squash and sweet potatoes like nobody's business. I always mixed in baby oatmeal to give it more depth and texture and to fortify his iron intake. All babies will respond to spoon feeding differently, so just try, then try again and give your little one time to adjust on his/her own schedule. It's SO much fun at this age.

Whats wrong with my ferret?

I got two ferrets from s good friend yesterday one a girl and one a boy. She got them a couple months ago from someone who said they got them at a pet store and they are both about a year old. The girl is healthy and normal acting but the boy is pretty sick. He does not move around much at all but when he tries he can not use his back legs and drags them around and he walks drunk and falls over and has to rest after a few steps. He also has runny tar black colored poop and is very dehydrated. I have been giving him water threw a syringe which he drinks right up and he seems less dehydrated today then yesterday which is good. He will not eat his food so I was giving him baby enfamil infant formula but I read that can cause him to have the runs worse so I stopped and Im going to start with some ensure later tonight and also try to give him some gerber baby food chicken flavor stage 2 which I read online is good for him when he is sick and something easy I can give in a syringe too. I can not afford a vet right now so I did look things up online and I read about them having low blood sugar a lot and I tried putting the honey on his gums and everything and it did nothing for him so I really do not think it is because of that. How do I help my baby accept food with texture?

My baby was on only breastmilk for the first 7 months of his life. Then I added baby food to his diet. Now he is 9 months old. Sometimes I thicken his baby food up with oatmeal cereal and he takes that just fine but if I try to give him anything with even the tiniest lumps in it he gags and eventually throws up so I have to make sure that it is completely smooth if I am going to feed it to him. I have tried even the gerber third foods thinking the stuff in there would maybe be mushy enough and small enough for him to handle but nope he gags then throws up. My doc told me to try those cereal puff things that way there is no danger of actual choking but the same thing happened. I was hoping to find someone on here that dealt with the same type of thing. I am fine with feeding him the smooth stuff for a while since he has only been eating food for two months but wondering how to make the transition easier on him. My son will be 3 months old in two days and he has been on Gerber Gentle formula for about two months. I know they say not to constantly change your babies formula and I try not to. And this may sound like a silly question. But my husband took my car to work because his was acting up and he'll be gone for a while and we are almost completely out of my sons formula. We do have a back up can of formula that's also Gentle but not the same brand. MIld/Moderate Tongue Tied in 19month old. Any suggestions on what to do?

I'm moderately tongue-tied, never had anything done as a child, my parents were in the military and I guess the doctors didn't feel it was severe enough to do anything. My brother was also born moderately tongue-tied, the doctors just cut the underpiece at the hospital when he was born. I didn't realize that you'd have to see a surgeon or an ENT to get that fixed. I just know when I was in college I wanted to get my tongue pierced and no place would do it because they said i was too tongue-tied and would probably require surgery first if I wanted to get my tongue pierced so obviously I didn't do it figured it was too much of a hassle. I'm thinking it should be a pretty simple surgery that could probably be done under local anesthia very easily & quickly.

You'll probably get in...its not that competitive of a school. As long as you live in the state of NC your fine, if your out of state it will be harder for you but theres a chance. Overall you seem to do fine in school and you have a bunch of ECs. You have some honors thats good, and the one AP is good, your ACT score is average, not great but not terrible might want to retake in this fall or not its up to you, you'll most likely get in, in my opinion, but overall no one here can tell you for sure that up to the admission people. So now the only thing you can do is apply, this coming fall.

I recieved the sonogram results and the vet says my cat has a small kidney and 2 lumps. What should I do?

One of the lumps is on her kidney and the other is near her ovary. Vet says not much can be done for her now. I have been assist-feeding her. She has absolutely no interest in food, except water which she is still drinking on her own. What should I do? I don't see her in no visible pain, she purrs when we get near her and touch her but she just won't eat. I have been assist-feeding her chicken Gerber baby food with water. Some family members tell me I should put her down now. I can't come to terms with it. I have decided if I see her in visible pain, I will definitely have no option. Am I doing the right thing? We were told by the lactation specialist at the hospital to not introduce pacifiers to her until she was about 1 month old to ovoid nipple confusion. So she's only happy attached to my breast not just sucking but will lay there with it in her mouth very contently. I'm 16, going to be a junior next year in AP classes and honestly if the teachers are suggesting him to be in the classes he sure as hell can handle them. Teachers evaluate really well to make sure that whatever class they're recommending for the student will help the student be successful. Honors and AP classes look great on college applications and if he goes through the honors classes and continues into AP junior and senior year you can save a lot of money by taking a test to transfer the AP credits into college credit hours. If you're worried about it, maybe only do 1 or 2 of the classes, but to get recommended for 3 honors classes and not take any of them would be looked at as either foolish or lazy by most teachers and college admission guides.\\edit// AND teachers are always willing to give students help where it's needed. I don't know how hard your son's school is, but usually honors classes are a challenge...but a nice challenge. If his lowest grade is a 94 he should definitely be taking honors classes.

Finding a Practical Knife?

I need a knife that can be opened and closed with one hand while wearing thick gloves (I would prefer it to not be a fixed blade because I cannot carry a sheath). I currently use a gerber army issue folding knife but opening and closing it is a pain in the a**. Why wont my 10 month old eat food with texture?

I've always been included in some large plan that could change lives forever. For example, I once had 4 dreams in 3 nights that was a story-line. The flowers are on individual stems. They are red with black at the base of each petal. The flowers have 21 petals with a bunch of tiny little petal-looking things at the center of the flowers. Senior year really doesn't matter for admissions; applications are due in the fall before you get any senior year grades yet. If you don't aim high, you can probably get into some lower ranked state schools with a 2.4 and high SAT scores. But nothing much higher than that. And don't go to college unless you have a clear plan for what you'll major in and what you'll do with that degree.

Finger foods for toddlers?

My son is 14 months old, and would rather eat finger foods versus using a spoon and having someone help feed him. But his father and I are stumped as to what new foods to try with him that he can pick up and eat on his own. A little information on my boy: He's got four teeth (two front bottom, and two front top), but he does extremely well with chewing up his food when it is cut into reasonable sized pieces. We have given him things like chicken nuggets, hot dogs, french toast, scrambled eggs, a variety of the gerber snack foods, and he's even eaten taco meat with a little cheese and lettuce mixed in (although I think he wore more than he ate!). My puppy is staying at the vet for one day?

Hello everyone, I have a problem, my 4 month puppy was feeling sick since thursday night, so next day I went to the vet early in the morning. The vet said that she has parvo, so she is in a treatment for 4 days. When I took her today for her shot the vet told me that she has responded to the medicine, but is weak because she does not want to eat, I have to give her gerber, and chicken sup. The vet told me that she needs blood serum because that will help her on the eating part, he says that she already passed the first 3 most difficult days, she has been sick for 4 days now. The required GPA is a 3.5 so you're fine in that area. The extra curriculars seem to be alright, the issue may be the ACT score. I don't think any college will pick the best individual scores, I think they just take the best overall ACT you have. And while a 24 is a good score for the ACT, I believe UofM requires something like a 27 or 28 for admittance. However, that does not automatically rule you out, but it seems that will be your biggest deterrent.

What can I do to make this better?

My son is 15 days old and I bottle feed him. He is eating the gerber goodstart and it seems like after I give him a few ounces and I burp him it seems like he still has it in his throat. My daughter's going to be one in a week and she just recently started eating finger foods as she got 5 teeth in 3 days, and now has 7. Right now for breakfast she normally eats baby cereal for 8 months and up and yogurt with maybe some fruit. For lunch we either give her more fruit or some vegtables. Then for dinner she will either have spaghetti with tomatao sauce, with some veggies or some meat with mashed potatos and veggies. For snacks she usually has cheerios, or gerber puffs. I started to give my 5 month old Stage 1 of Beechnut, Gerber, Earth's best and fresh bananas. He loves it all! I read the labels and some foods have more nutrients than others and flavor is different. I personally find gerber to be very watered down in comparison as other brands. My son suffers from acid reflux, severe constipation,colic and bad gas, do you think nutrimegen will help him?

My son is 7 weeks old. Since he was born he has had terrible problems with his belly :(. At birth he was very constipated and i had to help him go to the bathroom everyday with a thermometer. We tried prune juice, karo syrup, pear juice ,suppositories and 4 different types of formula! Finally the doctor said that he was having trouble breaking down the protein in the milk which was making him constipated so he switched him to gerber good start which is partially broken down and it helped a little bit. However he still grunts and moans and groans all day and struggles to go. He goes about once every 2 or 3 days. He also has silent reflux which he is taking pepcid for. He is always gassy and in pain and never sleeps. He is just not a happy baby. I havent slept in weeks and neither has he. I heard that the formula called nutrimagen works wonders for babies like mine. Has anyone else had a good expierence with this milk? Will it work for me? i will try anything to make him better. thanks alot
