Am I the only one who finds it creepy that Gerber dinner trays don't require refrigeration?

I completely agree, that's why i don't give them to my son. If they have no preservatives id like to know how they don't go bad. Maybe they package them in a similar way they can things? I don't know but i think its gross. If im really in that much of a hurry to prepare food ill make my son a sandwich or some kraft dinner.
