Your question reminds me of Abraham and Isaac, but that was before the ultimate sacrafice was made by The Lamb of God, Jesus. There remaineth no more sacrafice for sin, therefore God will not tell anyone to kill their children, therefore the man should be treated for his mental aberration and then punished. This includes so called honor killings by Muslims.
