Feeding my baby rice cereal?

I tried to give my baby rice cereal but she doesn't seem to like it i just mixed it with water until it was like the same consistency as gerber she loves gerber especially carrots and sweet potato. what can i do so my baby will like the cereal. maybe i am mixing it wrong how did you do it so your baby would eat the cereal
