I would tell him to go to hell that there's no way he's getting the ssn since he hasn't been there and buying a few things for the baby doesn't add up to child support. I would take his sorry *** to court and have his rights removed. You said that your son has a father in his life now so that's all that matters. He's such a loser and your son deserves so much better. Congrads on the step dad taking care of the baby you don't see that happening a lot these days.
